Ben Affleck and Jennifer Lopez have this week proven one of the most well known scientific theories known to humankind.
The celebrity couple have spectacularly called it quits, providing yet another example of getting back with your ex being a bad idea.
Lopez has reportedly filed for divorce this week, with her lawyers putting in the paperwork on the 2 year anniversary of their marriage.
The break up brings to an end one of the most highly publicised romances in modern history.
Affleck and Lopez famously initially got together after filming some extremely shit comedy-crime movie called Gigli in the early 2000s.
However, in a move that sent the New Idea’s and Sun’s of the world into meltdown, the pair called their wedding off just 4 days before they were set to tie the knot.
With endless stories speculating the cause of their break up, many held hope that the famous pair would one day reunite.
That did in fact happen, with JLo telling former baseball star Alex Rodriguez to take a hike and jumping back into things with Affleck.
While it seemed like the Hollywood ending at the time, the inevitable split was only years away.
“It was never gonna work out,” laughed Betoota Bugle Gossip Columnist Brianna Sharp.
“Getting back with your ex is never a good idea,” she laughed.
“Trust me, I should know…” she said, referencing her highly publicised on again off again relationship with Betoota Dolphins 1st grade captain Brayden Monaghan.
“This is just an other example of it.”
