After over 1000 near-divorces and endless drama, Lleyton and Bec Hewitt are looking to be replaced as the number one power couple on Australian tabloid magazines around the country.
The new kids on the block, Former Deputy Barnaby Joyce and his new partner, former staffer Vikki Campion.
Joyce (51) and Campion (33), have reportedly sold the story of their relationship to the Seven Network for $150,000, with the interview to air on the Sunday Night program, months after appealing for privacy and telling the media to “move on”.
Joyce’s colleagues have declined to comment on the ethics of a politician accepting money for interviews but the human services minister, Michael Keenan, says he would never do such a thing.
An industry insider has told News Corp the money from the interview will be held in a trust for Barnaby’s six-week-old son, Sebastian, as will any money they recieve for any photoshoot and inside story for this point on.
“Dangit” Lleyton told our reporters.
“It’s always been a love/hate relationship with me and the tabloids. But I don’t know what we’ll do without them”
“Why is a Federal MP taking money from the media though?”
“Like, I was a tennis player and Bec was a pop star, so that’s all good”
“But Barnaby is just a old bloke from Tamworth who got elected two and a half times”
