The CEO of Gucci has finally announced that the luxury clothing company will accept the fact that their target demographic isn’t actually high flying business men on R&R in Singapore, but mainly just drug dealers and guys that want to look like drug dealers.

The Italian clothing company has bravely come forward to say there’s no denying  that the brand has long been stuck in the delusion that their clothing, particularly their hats, are a tasteful item that only the world’s elite wear.

“In order to stay competitive in the modern era we have to acknowledge our true target demographic, men in stolen Subaru WRX’s.” Said the company’s CEO.

While many at the company are mourning the loss of the iconic brand’s high-end image, most agree that accepting reality is the best thing for the company moving forward.

“We think it’s best to lean into what we really are,” said one lead designer at Gucci.

“This is why our newest hat will come fully equipped with a secret stash spot hidden in the brim”

The clothing brand wants to reassure it’s other key demographic that this does not mean they will be turning their backs on them.

“We don’t want to this to discourage the second great pillar of the Gucci hat target demographic, really cashed up international students from China”

“We understand just how important this demographic is to our sales. While they might look small in numbers compared to the drug dealer types, they’re actually one of the few groups that doesn’t mainly just buy fake replicas.”

“We want them to know that this branding shift will in no way affect our relationship with them.”

Gucci’s great leap into the unknown and shifting their focus to marketing towards the criminal underworld has raised heads in the luxury fashion industry.

Ralph Lauren, Lacoste, Tommy Hilfiger, Sergio Tacchini, Gant, Burberry and Nautica will all be paying attention to see if the decision to run the company with a genuine vision of reality, and not delusion, will pay off.
