In yet another insult to working families, the Federal Government has put together a taskforce to investigate if it’s a good idea to make the individual taxpayer foot the bill for the impending tsunami of older Australians entering the aged care system.
Before anything is done, the Federal Government has been urged by a number of groups representing workers to considering going and getting absolutely fucked sideways.
It comes as the Federal Government tries to untangle the mess of the past decade of policy failures in a number of areas but once again, in true government fashion, they have looked to ordinary people to pay for solutions instead of giant corporations – especially those that exploit Australia’s natural resources for private profits.
Stanley Bugsby, from the United Union Of Broke People, says this proposed levy is the latest slap in the face to people doing it tough.
“Companies like Rio Tinto, BHP and Woodside should have to pay more tax,” said Mr Bugsby.
“And Baby Boomers should have to fund their own retirement. Those that can’t are entitled to a pension. However, when they need to enter aged care, who’s problem to they become? What this Federal Government proposes to do is make you, the individual taxpayer, pay for it out of your own earnings. It’s disgraceful,”
“But it’s a step up from what the previous Morrison Government wanted to do with broke old people, which was to cattle gun them and turn them into a protein-rich paste to feed to livestock. On top of this issue, we have the problem of finding people to work in aged care. Where are they going to live? Where will they come from? These are all problems that the government faces. Honestly, the Baby Boomers have been more trouble than they’re worth. Young people these days will have the common decency to be euthanised at 65 for the betterment of society, that’s what I reckon.”
The Advocate reached out to the Federal Government for comment but have yet to receive a reply.
