Brisbane Broncos fullback Reece Walsh has entered a not guilty plea ahead of facing the Judiciary on Tuesday night, following an expletive-riddled on-field spray during his team’s loss to the Titans on Sunday.

Walsh was charged with Contrary Conduct towards a match official, and referred straight to Judiciary for the charge of swearing at a referee in the 74th minute of the match.

And just to showcase how New South Wales-centric the NRL actually is, the 20-year-old will have to fly to Sydney to attend the alongside Broncos officials – if he wants to defend the charge.

However, Broncos teammates have come out to defend Walsh on social media, clarifying that his swear words were actually directed at an opposing player.

Speaking to the Betoota Advocate today, Reece Walsh firstly asked if our journalists had fucken rocks in their heads – before telling us to grow the fuck up and get a fucken life.

“I don’t know where you get this fucken rubbish from” he said.

“You’re pulling it deadset straight out of your fucken arse. I wasn’t f–cken swearing at the refs you dumb f–ken c–ts”

“Do I look like the type of c–t that would f–ken do that?”

“What do you f–ken take me for? A f–ken clown?”

The Betoota Advocate then apologised profusely to Reece Walsh for getting the wrong idea, and for asking such stupid questions.

The offence is Walsh’s fourth charge this year, having been cited for a Grade 1 Shoulder Charge in Round 11 as well as Dangerous Contact and Striking offences in the Maroons’ State of Origin victory in Game Two.

Some Sydney reporters say this might put his selection for Game III of Origin in doubt, but that doesn’t matter because Queensland have already won because we are the superior state.
