Former Prime Minister Scott Morrison has today told The Betoota Advocate that everyone ‘needs to take a chill pill.’

Speaking to our humble regional newspaper a short time ago from some ritzy hotel in Positano, Morrison said he wishes everyone would just give this Robdebt chat a rest.

“It’s a politically motivated bombshell,” said the man who weirdly timed his European holiday around the dates the Royal Commission into the Robodet Scheme dropped its report.

“Everyone is just making such a big deal out of it, it’s so cringe,” explained Morrison with an Aperol Sptitz in his hand.

Morrison’s frustrated comments come after the 993 page report into the scheme was released last week, revealing the ‘crude and cruel’ policy was illegal.

The report found that senior figures within the government and the public service were aware the scheme was illegal and continued pushing ahead.

It also found that they publicly promoted the scheme, knowing it was illegal.

It also found that they covered up that they knew the scheme was illegal and they publicly defended it knowing it was illegal.

Politicians and media figures on both sides of the divide have now called for Morrison to resign from politics.

Still holding onto the seat of Cook in Sydney’s Shire region, Morrison has been sulking away on the back bench since losing the Prime Ministership last year.

Many had predicted he would quit politics this month to pursue highly paid consultancy gigs in the defence industry which definitely weren’t linked to him spending 348 billion dollars on a handful of submarines.

However, now people are attacking him in the media again, it’s now been floated that Morrison might dig his heels in to prove a point.

Morrison refused to confirm or deny his future plans to the Advocate, but confirmed he barely even remembers Robodebt.

“I swear I didn’t even known it was one of the ministries I secretly and underhandedly took over in a blatant power grab.”

“Chill out!”

More to come.
