A local girl has been forced to go into social media hiding this week after an awkward online encounter with a colleague.
Alice Martin, a taxation auditor from KPMG Brisbane, is alleged to have ghosted a fling she regrettably hooked up with at her work EOFY party.
Having been worked to the bone for the past six months, it’s believed Alice took it upon herself to give the bar tab at the partner funded event a red hot crack, given that espresso martinis were available on tap.
But after ending up on the dance floor at the post-work party with a group of work mates, Alice is reported to have made a move on Oliver from Advisory and share a sneaky pash, given she sometimes saw him in the lift and thought was a bit of a cutie.
But after sharing a Peroni soaked kiss that was nowhere near as good as she’d expected, Alice decided it was best to keep her distance from Zane, who was a friendly co-worker but ultimately a little too beige for her tastes.
Now spending her Sunday nursing a hangover and chilling out on the couch, it’s reported that Alice was seriously icked to see Zane slide into her DM’s with a pretty average meme about work life balance.
“Yeah it’d be different if he had some game,” Alice told our reporter, “but the memes he sent me are about as good as his kissing, pretty limp.”
Asked how she’d escape from having to enter into a witty exchange of meme driven banter, Alice told The Advocate she planned to break his heart quickly and quietly.
“I’m just gonna react with the ‘thumbs up’ emoji, that’ll nip it in the bud!” said Alice.
“No need for a follow up, a ‘thumbs up’ and leaving him on ‘seen’ should do the trick!”
