Victorian Premier Dan Andrews has found himself facing criticism again this week, after going on a bit of a rampage that has been branded ‘a bit of an overkill.’
This comes after Andrews announced that new homeowners will be banned from connecting gas to homes built from next year, in an effort meet emissions targets and reduce power bills, with Victorians expected to save average $1,000 annually once making the switch.
Despite being branded the usual ‘Dictator Dan’, Andrews has doubled down on his decision by simultaneously launching a marketing campaign to ease out the word ‘gas’ from the human language – including a very popular phrase that is a favourite amongst the nation’s dads.
“From what I gather, the phrase ‘now we’re cooking with gas’ means ‘now we’re making progress'”, said Dan.
“But is how is gas progressive? It’s time to update our language to reflect modern times.”
“So from now on, you’re not allowed to say ‘now we’re cooking with gas.'”
“I simply won’t allow it.”
More to come.
