In a show of nostalgia that no one that age has the right to feel, local 22-year-old Callum Brodie has made waves by making the huge call that he misses the old Kanye, despite having only vague recollections of the Chicago rapper’s earlier work from primary school.
“I just feel like Kanye used to be so much better, you know?” remarked Callum, who was born several months after the twin towers came down.
“His new stuff just doesn’t have that same magic, everything went downhill after MBDTF if I’m being honest.”
Callum’s insistence that he yearns for the bygone era of Kanye West’s career, marked by groundbreaking albums like “The College Dropout” and “Late Registration” has left his older friends and acquaintances scratching their heads.
“It’s like, bro, you were like, what, eight when ‘Graduation’ came out?” remarked Callum’s older cousin, Luca Brasinatta (29).
“You were barely even old enough to tie your shoes, let alone appreciate the music of an art-pop hip hop producer”
While some see Callums opinion as naïve, others are congratulating Callum on not supporting an artist that has been known to spout what some would call, hate speech.
Callum appreciated the applause from the more progressive sides of society, but he bizarrely denied this was the reason and double-downed on the fact that it’s only about the music.
“Nah, I’m not really into all that boomer cancel culture stuff, Kanye is a genius and everything he says has a hidden meaning.”
“I just think his music isn’t as good as it used to be, that’s all.”
“I miss the old Kanye.”
