In an amazing display of social stamina, local girl Bella Smeaton (29) has astounded friends and family by continuing to endure membership in a staggering twelve different event group chats, despite never contributing to any of them.
Bella, who’s renowned for her respectable dedication to politeness and not trying to stir the pot, initially found herself added to the first group chat, “Georgia’s Surprise Bday Drink Up” by a friend.
Rather than gracefully leave the chat due to only meeting Georgia one time at a kick-ons, Bella opted to remain, not wanting to hurt anyone’s feelings. When asked about why she feels so strongly about not leaving a group chat she said it all came down to one simple Instagram chat feature.
“Bella Has Left The Group”
The five words send shivers down the spines of people pleasers around the globe.
“If they just didn’t have that damn feature there genuinely wouldn’t even be a problem, I could bow out of the chat without anyone finding out, instead, Instagram has this stupid feature that not only makes sure everyone know I left the chat, but it also sets a terrible tone for the event organizing if that’s the first thing they see.” Bella explained.
“I mean, it would be nice if they had a feature that let me leave the chat but notify everyone that it wasn’t in a passive aggressive way, but in the “I don’t feel like I know anyone well enough to come to this event ” way.
