A 23 year old bloke from Betoota’s French Quarter district has this week proudly declared he plans on launching a ‘industry breaking’ new app for hospitality, despite having had no experience with apps…or hospitality.
Speaking to our reporter over the phone today, who pretended to be interested in hearing about his ‘disruptive’ idea, James Talbot-Manning, heir to the Manning Development Group, says the idea came to him last weekend, when he was sinking some piss at Betoota’s ritziest waterfront bar, ‘The Golden Tapestry.”
“I tried ordering a Mojiti and the bartender was like, ‘oh we ran out of white rum!”, explains James, “so I thought, what if there was like, a special app that notifies managers when inventory is low.”
Our reporter mentions that staff usually just keep a log in a spreadsheet, or you know, just tell the manager in person, but this fails to deter James.
“Okay but like what if the app automatically ordered stock BEFORE products run out.”
“It would just improve systems and processes so much.”
When asked what kind of work he was doing now, a dismissive James tries to skirt around the question.
“I’m kind of in between jobs at the moment. I was working in medical insurance a few months but I didn’t see much room for career growth.”
“I’d like to own a bar one day.”
More to come.
