A 24-hour gym franchise located next a row of newly-built Townhouses in Betoota Heights has played host to a redemption story these past few months – as an embattled local dad overcomes his personal indiscretions.
Once regarded as a selfish grub who had not only fucked up his own life, but also the lives of countless other people who were close to him, it seems that local accountant Dale Shanahan (55) is slowly being welcomed back into the community.
This comes after spending 18 months as a social outcast – beginning from the very moment his wife found irrefutable evidence that he had been having meaningless sex with at least one younger woman.
With new information coming to light every day that Dale may have had similar relationships with other women before this, an entire social circle and two extended families are being rocked by this betrayal.
Initially, the emotionally-stunted father-of-two responded to the allegations and subsequent criticisms of his character by first denying that anything happened – even going as far as telling his wife’s friends that she was imagining things because of a paranoia triggered by her own personal issues.
However, when it became clear that he had in fact done the wrong thing, Dale went off grid – and was only ever occasionally spotted playing golf with the the type of blokes he’d have once avoided before becoming one of them himself.
With two teenage children currently acting up in school after being thrown into disarray by cataclysmic changes in their once stable home lives, and an ex-wife who has completely become withdrawn from her family and friends due to the severe embarrassment she feels as a result of the betrayal – many thought it would be very hard for Dale to come back from this.
But this week, with a newly-activated Facebook account and a new medium-priced sports car, Dale has done just that.
“Dale is actually looking really good” said one anonymous community member, who has done a complete 360 ever since seeing how muscular this once-disgraced cheater has become on social media.
“He’s absolutely stacked” says another former acquaintance, who is now once again warming up to Dale.
“Like. He’s looking the best he’s ever looked”
It is not yet certain if Dale’s impressive efforts in the gym will be enough to win back the people that he let down with his unfaithfulness, but what is clear is that he would have never looked this good if something didn’t change in his life.
