A Betoota Heights couple who should have called it quits years ago have doubled down yet again, figuring that having a second baby will fix the deep structural issues of their relationship.

Even though it’s obvious to all of their mates that they fucking hate each other, Leslie and Tom Williams have found themselves falling victim to the ‘sunk cost fallacy’ of relationships, which refers to individuals staying in a relationship that clearly isn’t working, because they’ve invested so much time and effort into it over the years.

Having originally been high school sweethearts, the concept of starting over in their early thirties is terrifying to both Leslie and Tom, so it’s much easier to continue to blindly believe that making another life-changing decision will magically remedy the fact that the two of them just simply aren’t compatible anymore. Or, maybe they never were.

Opting to continue to keep up the Joneses by hitting all those life goals, The Williams have dutifully ticked off getting married, purchasing a house, adopting a dog, having a baby, and now, aiming for baby number two.

But if all else fails, opening up the relationship or browsing on Tinder for a unicorn is bound to work!

More to come.
