A woman who has been on the fence about whether or not she wants children has now found out she most certainly does not, after getting into a serious relationship with an Irish bloke.
Meeting the carpenter on Tinder, Eden Phillips, 32, says the relationship had started off ‘really well’, but had quickly begun to fall apart the moment they moved in with each other – with Eden finding out the hard way that she was dealing with the dreaded ‘mama’s boy.’
Though the term is innocent sounding enough, a ‘mama’s boy’ doesn’t actually refer to a bloke that just really loves his mum, but someone who is ‘ excessively influenced by or attached to his mother.
Having grown up being doted on, and allowed to get away with murder (while their sisters are given strict rules), the mama’s boy may find it difficult to leave the nest. That is, unless they immediately find another nest (second mum) to roost in.
Speaking to Eden, our reporter learns that the marketing manager is now positive she is not ‘cut out for kids’ – citing that if she ever did have a baby with Sean, she’d be ‘looking after two of them.’
“Yeah it was quite eye opening, I’m so glad it’s normal to move in with someone before marrying them now”, says Eden.
“Otherwise I would never have learned that he can’t cook.”
“..or use the washing machine, do basic household chores.”
Eden says it was evident quite early on, that she was expected to do all the household chores – but funnily enough, would not have much say on important decisions.
“You think his mum being halfway across the country would mean she wasn’t involved much, but nope.”
“That’s enough for me.”
More to come.
