Despite her best efforts to cultivate refined elegance, with her fashion accessories, local young professional Olivia De Luca (26) has once again succumbed to the Lovisa sale rack.

The marketing assistant recently decided it was time to start investing in fine jewellery after seeing an Instagram ad for an online boutique selling hand-crafted 14k gold pieces. After a few hours of online browsing, Olivia was determined to stop buying fast-fashion accessories and opt for something more timeless.

“I just think it’s time I start buying quality pieces—stuff that won’t tarnish,” she told her friend over coffee. “I’m sick of my ear lobes going green.”

However, old habits die hard. During a casual stroll through the shopping centre on her lunch break, Olivia found herself wandering into Lovisa “just to look.”

Within seconds, she was drawn to the sale rack, brimming with 3-for-$10 earrings.

Pushing past some local high schoolers also ogling the deals, Olivia reached for a pair of black tassel earrings.

“I know I’m supposed to be moving on to better things,” she admitted, “but where else can you get three pairs of earrings for $10?

“Besides, these will go really well with the cardi I bought the other day.”

Despite her aspirations for a more refined jewellery collection, Olivia walked out of the store with yet another haul of budget bling, promising herself that next pay, she’ll finally make that big investment. Until then, she’s more than happy to enjoy her thrifty finds.

“I also wanna get into that whole capsule wardrobe thing, but I did see Sportsgirl has a sale on. Might just pop in to have a look.”

More to come.
