A local dad has offered some very much unwanted information to his adult children today.

Taking to the family group chat, old Darren Walton has decided to celebrate the Immortal status of one of Rugby League’s greats by letting his kids know that he used to get a leg over.

“I used to be Mad Ronnie Cooter baCk in th day, (sic)” said Darren, shortly after Ron Coote was made the 14th Rugby League Immortal.

Drawing some rolling eyes and angry emojis from various familiar members, Darren decided to follow it up with another unprompted message.

“The ladies used to say was actually a big of an immortal Ron Coote before I met your mother (sic).”

For those leg tennis or round ball fans, Ron Coote is a euphemism for a root, and has survived as long as the great man’s many on and off field accolades.

On top of being part of the East Coast lexicon, the gun forward won six premierships and played in nine grand finals for the Rabbitohs and the Roosters.

Off the field he achieved incredible things like founding the Men of League and was made a member of the Order of Australia.

His logical induction as an NRL Immortal has sparked universal applause from the rugby league world, and sparked a resurgence in people using his name as a euphemism.

“Ahhhhh, those were different times though kids,” finished big Daz.

More to come.
