A local Betoota Heights woman has today decided to tackle the cost of living crisis head on.

Andrea Walton, the mother of 3 has explained to The Advocate that she’s decided to reduce her overheads when it comes to providing for the family.

“Yeah, I’ve decided it’s time to lower my running costs by not paying overs for my groceries,” she said.

“So, I’ve spoken with my board and we are lowering our expenses when it comes to operating costs,” she continued, referencing the food she puts on the table and in lunchboxes.

“So after an external cost benefit analysis of the structural make up of my company, we are pursuing the business case of reducing our weekly shopping bill by just stealing some shit.”

Walton’s comments follow the revelation that Coles and Woolworths have again posted billion dollar profits in a cost of living crisis that drags on for another year.

Like the Big 4 banks and consultancy firms, energy providers and a bunch of other business operating in extremely concentrated ‘free markets’ – Coles and Woolies have provided a large number of reasons as to why they are posting a profit while customers complain about putting food in their mouthes and farmers about getting fucked.

The have also moved to hose down their involvement in the ‘inflation crisis’ which has nothing to do with them profiteering, but is apparently the fault of ordinary people being too frivolous with their food, energy and car bills.

So, Andrea says she’s putting her shareholders first.

“Fuck em,” she smiled.

“We are having meat twice this week, and no amount of security tags will stop me.”

“Thanks for coming.”

More to come.
