A local girl is struggling to switch off from work tonight as she once again finds her day job following her around.
Trying to enjoy a harmless Sunday night scroll on some dating apps, Kelsie Canon can’t get through three profiles before spotting some of her handy work.
A wedding photographer by trade, Kelsie spends her weekends capturing nuptials under the banner of her small business, “Moments by Kels”.
A thriving business in today’s social age, Kelsie says the only downside is she’s already met all the desperate men in Betoota, because they’re always the ones most keen to see themselves captured on a DSLR camera.
“I reckon I’ve photographed every bachelor in town, they always corner me at some point later in the night trying to get themselves a few solo shots,” says Kelsie.
“You think the bride is always the one rushing to get photos back, but most of her single mates are hitting me up on my business Instagram, begging to see if I’ve edited the rest of the shots yet.”
Given she spends most Friday and Saturday nights weaving through dancefloors capturing guests jive to “Get Lucky” by Daft Punk, Kelsie says she’s barely got any time to date herself.
But mingling with local close to 30 somethings, Kelsie says she does get the chance to see what potential suitors look like, after ten warm Peronis and a few champagnes.
“Oooh here’s that guy from the Williams/Mason wedding last weekend. He was kinda cute and actually I liked that groomsman suit.”
“Wow I really nailed the lighting on that shot, just for that he can have a right swipe.”
