As various state governments admit to having some trouble encouraging employees to come back to the office, the Victorian government has decided to take the bull by the horns and go for an alternative approach, it’s reported.
This comes as numerous articles about failing CBD cafes have failed to pull at anyone’s heart strings, as well as the NSW government’s recent decision to make working at a government approved office compulsory which has left a lot of workers disgruntled.
Learning from these mistakes, the Victorian government decided to shy away from trying to guilt employees, and instead decided to focus on some of the perks employees might miss out should they stay at home – i.e the excitement of a workplace love affair!
“We found the wholesome approach just wasn’t working”, says Leanna Jennison, head of the PR and marketing department, “so we had a bit of a brainstorm session to discuss what people would be missing out on.”
“And that’s when we stumbled upon workplace affairs.”
Jennison says this new modern age of working means that not only will fewer people meet their partners in the workplace, but also a massive drop in ‘work husbands’ and ‘work wives.’
“It saddens me that these younger generations will experience the rush of having a torrid workplace affair that will completely implode multiple lives”, says Jennison, “you just can’t get the same experience over a Zoom call, can you?”
More to come.
