A new study released this week has revealed that a perfect connection between the bare palms of two eager mates is the most clear indicator that it’s a good day to be catching up.
Researchers behind the report say it’s also a decent indication that it might have been a little while between catchups.
This follows a recent report by the Association of Various Assortment Of Stage, Sound, Catering, Hospitality United Network Of Australia (AVASSCHUNA) which was aimed at understanding the interactions of mates around the country in certain situations.
“It’s been right in front of us this whole time,” said lead researcher Justin Singleton.
“That’s how you can figure out whether the boys are on or not.”
“What we have found is if two mates meet each other in somewhere like a living room, backyard, or football oval – the crispness of the clap in the handshake shared between them will best determine what sort of a vibe there is”
“If it’s a low thud, it means they are going through the motions.”
“If it’s a lightning strike of excited skin-on-skin energy – then you are dealing with a couple of mates keen to catch up.”
Other tips for observers of social situations include keeping an eye out for whether or not old mate has gone to grab a tin of Fosters Classic out of the fridge before greeting his mate – if so, then it’s likely they saw each other the other day or someone is running a bit slow.
The full report is available on the AVASCHUNA website.
More to come.
