As hard as she tries, local retail worker Anushka (Betoota Heights, 29) just can’t for the life of her figure out seemingly very important financial terminology.

It’s not because she’s trying to get a loan, or trying to find work as a stockbroker. It’s because her favourite TV show uses so much of it.

This comes as the Season 3 finale of HBO’s sleeper hit TV series ‘Industry’ was gorged by hundreds of millions of viewers overnight – bringing together scandalous plot twists and shattering heartbreak amongst the British elite.

What started as a quirky pandemic-era millennial fuckfest, has since turned into an epic HBO production that is verging on becoming one of the greatest series of the decade.

And like many other TV viewers who were looking for something a little less twisted than Euphoria but not as Australian as Heartbreak High, Anushka has been there from the start.

This is despite the fact that she has no idea what the fuck any of the characters are talking about, for about 40% of each episode.

The show, which initially followed a group of young graduates competing for permanent positions at a prestigious investment bank in London, has now become a razor sharp examination of class and privilege in Modern Britain.

Anushka says it’s weird that she has a much better understanding of the social pressures that are faced by the completely detached English aristocracy, than any of the casual dialogue that takes place on the trading room floor.

“I can totally keep up with the trials and tribulations of these Lords and mistresses doing ayahuasca in the countryside and running from the paparazzi because their fathers are prolific sexual abusers who made billions as titans of industry”

“But I still don’t know what a ‘short’ is”

However, this doesn’t mean she’s not caught up in the drama of it all.

“I know when things are going bad and things are going well on the trading room floor. Just by the vibes. But I don’t get why it sometimes it’s a good thing to be taking on debt?”

Anushka says she even went as far as watching the Adam McKay film ‘The Big Short’ but not even Margot Robbie or Anthony Bourdain could explain this technical jargon in terms she could understand.
