A local woman has today taken it upon herself to award an unofficial Michelin star.
While she doesn’t have the culinary training or required certification to be handing out the badges of recognition, Elise Riordan has decided to give one out to her housemate – for the incredible aroma emanating from her frying pan.
The awarding ceremony came last night, after Riordan returned from some after work drinks with a serious appetite for some food.
With her pre-emptive food delivery order not yet arriving, Riordan was greeted by a wave of non-fodmap friendly smells rolling over the top of her as she walked in the door.
“OMG that smells so FRICKING good,” said the young woman smelling some onions and garlic bubbling away in a bit of olive oil.
“What the hell are you cooking, you MUST send me the recipe,” she laughed.
When informed that it was just the base for 500 grams of chicken breast and a store bought jar of sugar masquerading as ‘sauce’ – Riordan sighed.
“Oh, well it smells amazing anyway.”
When offered some of the stir fry, Riordan politely declined and said she’d hold on for the Pad Thai and Spring Rolls on route to her place as they spoke.
