A bleary eyed Jarome Luai has woken up to some clingy text messages this morning as he begins to shake off the glory of winning his fourth premiership last night.

Wiping a mix of confetti and clumps of dirt from Accor Stadium from his eyes, the Penrith five-eighth is believed to have been greeted with 15 text messages from Wests Tigers officials, all hoping he’s available to come in today.

“Hey Romey! It’s the Tiges here. Got much on today? Think you could stop by for a video review session?” read one message.

“Romeyyy mate unreal game last night. We’re doing some ball work today if you’re keen? Just a kick and giggle, nothing too serious!” read another, from Tigers coach Benji Marshall.

After signing the premiership-winning playmaker to a five-year deal at the club, it’s understood the Tigers are desperate to get Jarome into Wests kit as soon as possible, in the hope they can avoid a fourth wooden spoon.

But The Advocate can report that all 15 messages, and 57 missed calls, will likely be left until after the celebrations die down, as Jarome plans to bask in the Panther’s glorious four-peat.

“Brother as if I’m gonna be anywhere but on Mulgoa Rd today,” Jarome told our reporter, as he took a sniff of a last night’s premiership t-shirt and deciding to just throw it straight back on.
