Local Anna Talbot has learned the hard way that the chances of copping a chatty Uber driver are almost 100% guaranteed if you’re violently hungover and trying to hold in vomit, which she experienced this morning after accidentally sleeping past her alarm.

Speaking to The Advocate, Anna admits she’d been a bit silly on the sauce last night with one of her hospo mates, which she ‘forgot’ could drink like a fish. That, coupled with some heavily discounted margaritas, quickly resulted in Anna spending the entire night out on the town.

Crashing into bed at roughly 5am, Anna says she only managed three and half hours sleep before noticing the streaks of sunlight peeking through her blinds, resulting in a panicked dash to get ready for work starting in half an hour’s time.

“I don’t think I’ve felt that shit in a long time”, says Anna, still looking visibly hungover, “I would have called in sick but I already chucked a sickie last week.”

Anna says she reckons she would have been fine had it not been for her Uber driver, who seemed hellbent on having a conversation with her for the entire duration of the ride.

“He starts asking me how I am, where I’m going, what I do for work.”

“I make the mistake of telling him I work in tech so he starts asking more questions.”

“Then it’s ‘oh cool, what are your thoughts on AI?’ and ‘do you work with robots?’

“All questions that required in depth answers.”

“I think he knew I was hungover.”

More to come.
