In a shocking display of upward mobility, local millennial Paul Donovan (32) has traded in his scruffy office worker mullet for a crisp, corporate crew cut after snagging a promotion to Senior Management.
The once-proud owner of a mullet was spotted at a French Quarter cafe this morning, sporting a freshly trimmed look that has apparently cut his casual banter with the barista in half. Sources close to Paul claim the transformation occurred almost immediately after he received his new job title.
“It’s like he flipped a switch overnight,” said a bemused colleague. “One day, he’s rocking that mullet with chinos and a quarter-zip, slipping out early for knock-off drinks, and the next, he’s strutting through the office in a sharp blue suit and a crew cut.”
Paul, who used to thrive in the business casual grey zone, insists the shift was essential for his new role. “I figured it was time to get serious,” Paul said, adjusting his suit jacket and offering a firm handshake. “With strategy meetings, reports, and performance reviews now on my plate, the look had to match the role.”
Despite the bold new appearance, some are hopeful for a mullet resurgence. “We’ll see,” Paul said with a cheeky grin. “If I make it to the very top, the mullet might just make a comeback.”
