FML: In a twist of fate that’s left her reeling, local woman Emily Tran, 28, has had her daily shower ritual interrupted by a cringe-worthy memory from a decade ago. As she stepped under the warm spray, the sound of her shower playlist triggered a flashback to that fateful night out when she attempted to start a conga line after one too many UDLs at a friend’s birthday party.
“I thought it would be hilarious,” Emily recalled to Betoota, laughing nervously. “But instead of being the life of the party, I ended up yelling ‘Conga line, bitches!’ at the top of my lungs while trying to pull people from their chairs. Safe to say, no-body joined my Conga line!”
As the water cascaded down, Emily couldn’t shake the embarrassment that washed over her. “Every time I hear that song, I remember the confused looks on my friends’ faces. I still cringe just thinking about it. It’s like my brain loves to remind me of my most awkward moments.”
To add to her shower-time anxiety, Emily recalled a particularly disastrous first date where she mistakenly gave a“motivational speech” to the guy who had just lost his grandma. “I meant to say something supportive, but instead, I rambled on about how important it is to embrace life and be your own cheerleader!”
Now, every time she showers, Emily finds herself mentally preparing for any possible embarrassing scenario that could arise.
“I guess you could say I’m just an over thinker” she adds.
More to come.
