Local woman Gabrielle Flores today stands accused of being in denial, after announcing she has a ‘bit of a girl crush’ on a female colleague, it’s reported.
The term ‘girl crush’ refers to a woman having platonic feelings of admiration for a fellow woman, with the male equivalent being a ‘man crush’ (it’s unknown why it’s not ‘woman crush but a lot of slang, movies and TV show titles seem to prefer the word ‘girl’, for some reason).
Gabrielle, who works in a PR office in the French Quarter, has admitted that she heavily admires her new colleague Tara, because she’s ‘so cool.’
So cool, in fact, that Gabrielle finds herself talking about her. All the time.
“Tara is just SO cool!”, she gushes to our reporter, who raises her eyebrow, “She has the best dress sense and she’s SO funny. And for someone who’s SO pretty, she’s SO nice!”
“And she always smells nice. I’ll have to ask what perfume she wears.”
Gabrielle says she sincerely hopes Tara and her can become close friends.
“I just have such a girl crush on her haha.”
“Maybe I’ll see what she’s doing this weekend.”
