A local expert from Betoota’s Bureau Of Meteorology has today reiterated the fact that the UV index isn’t directly correlated for the ‘Itness’ of a day.

Aaron Hardie, a meteorologist at the Betoota Plains Observatory explained to The Advocate that there are plenty of other factors to be taken into account when assessing whether it is a Day For It.

“There’s a whole range of variables that need to be considered when making a judgement on the day,” he explained.

“For example, some people think that bright and sunny conditions simply make it a Day For It.”

“However, there are plenty of other conditions that contribute to ideal consumption of a cold beverage with some friends or family.”

“The first Saturday of Summer? Ahhh yeahhhh, that’s an absoluteeeeeee Day For It.”

“Rain, hail, or shine.”

“It’s also Better Beer’s National Day For It Day, so it would go against all forms of human logic to suggest that it is anything other than a Day For It.”

Hardie explained that he’ll be indulging in the annual day with a couple of cold ones with some family, and then some friends, and then who knows.

“Nephew’s first birthday in the morning, then I’ll be making the most of the annual celebration and be picking up a couple of slabs of Better Beer for 90 bucks from Dan’s.”

“And then, who knows, I’ll see where the evening takes me.”

“I actually think drinking in the rain is just as nice by the way. It makes you feel like you shouldn’t be anywhere other than where you are consuming a tin or schooner.”
