In some breaking news from Betoota Plains – mum and dad are going to be getting a juicy power bill in a few weeks time.
This follows the return of the kids from the city for the Christmas and New Year break.
While of course mum and dad are stoked to have them, and the kids are stoked to be enjoying some R&R in the sanctity of the family home – there will be a slight downside for mum and dad’s bottom lime.
Understandably the cost of things like Chrissy hams and rum cream have already been factored in and accounted for, but it’s the air-conditioning that is likely going to give dad quite the shock.
Famous for turning off power switches that aren’t currently being used, conservative electricity use has always been a hobby of the old boy.
However, with one of the hottest summers on history laying down over the top of the sweaty nation, the kids in the family have confirmed that they are going to be pumping the AC for the next couple of weeks.
“Yeah sorry dad,” laughed his eldest daughter Gracie.
“You should have got solar all those years ago when I told you too..”
“I’m gonna be turning it on in the bedroom like an hour before I go to bed, and I ain’t turning it off when I wake up.”
