A local woman is partaking in her Christmas tradition of having some Baileys on ice, which is the only time of year she drinks it, given that now she’s in her thirties, milky alcohol is definitely not her thing.
Having partook in the odd vodka mud shake in the past, Gwen Carey, 31, says that she usually sticks to her wine all year round, but that a glass full of Baileys makes for the perfect Christmas drink – especially when drunk at 10am.
“I don’t know, I guess it’s the Aussie version of eggnog?”, muses Gwen, “I don’t know, it just feels Christmassy.”
“I can only have a couple though, then I start to feel sick.”
Gwen will no doubt get at least halfway through the bottle, before forgetting about it completely and leaving it in the fridge for the next couple of months.
