A local victorian terrace share house has been left perplexed as to how their electricity bill could be so expensive this quarter.
The bill, which covered the months of November, December and January appears to be almost double that of their regular bills, much to the confusion of the four roomies in their 20s.
Maya (29), who was recently gifted a portable aircon by her mum, says the cost of the bill is shameful.
“This definitely comes down to the government, or cost of living or some shit, somethings gotta change” she said while as she blasted the aircon all day every day, in December.
Ellie (28), who reportedly had her portable aircon running for 62 consecutive days has simply thrown in the towel when it comes to figuring out how this could have happened.
Ellies’s frustration was shared by housemate Tom (27), who’s been running his PlayStation 5 and two monitors.
Alex (26) wasn’t taking the blame either.
“I’ve been turning off lights when I leave rooms, so it’s not me.”
Then he added, “Maybe it’s just a mistake with the electricity people”
The housemates are still stumped as to how their non-insulated share house that was protected by the elements by a constant flow of aircon could run up such a high bill, but they’re hoping the next bill won’t be as brutal.
