A Betoota Heights woman is preparing to share in the spoils of victory tonight, and she and her extended team celebrate another year.
With her boyfriend’s finance boat party and her brother’s all expenses work Chrissy party weekend away down on the Sunshine Coast having come and gone, Shonelle Phillips is now looking forward to her time in the limelight.
“Yep, the schnitty special at the Betoota Heights Tav is going to go down an absolute treat,” explained the young woman who will be paying for her own drinks, and topping up the extra $2.50 for pepper sauce required.
“I mean, it’s just lovely that my place of employment is rewarding me for all of the hard work over the course of the year,” explained the social worker at a local not-for-profit.
“And I mean technically we aren’t even supposed to be getting anything, so the 18 dollar per head budget is just amazing,” continued the woman whose company bills her out at $145 an hour to government funded and private paying patients.
“That’s like 6 whole minutes of my time that they are giving back to me!”
When informed by her bosses that unfortunately their hands were tied, Shonelle requested clarity on the very ritzy dinner that was provided to management and the marketing team.
“Yeah apparently, upper management decided they needed to be rewarded for not seeing a single client for the entirety of the year.”
“And they just generate so much revenue for our company that cares about generating revenue instead of actually providing care to vulnerable people who this company was set up to care for.”
“So I totally understand.”
“I’m just so thankful they managed to set aside some coin for us.”
