In heartwarming news, a former Betoota local who now lives in London has hit Instagram this evening to remind everyone, she’s still living in London.
Megan Clapham-Ascot, a 28-year-old PR specialist from Betoota Grove, has this year made quite a song and dance about the fact she’s moved halfway across the world to drink £7 pints with people she met on her gap year.
The former head prefect of St Trinians Grammar School, Megan’s very public decision to chase her career goals abroad has this year become a bit of a content play, as she frequently uses the geo-location sticker to let everyone know she’s no longer hanging out in dive establishments that are no longer cool enough for her, like the Betoota Uni bar, The Toot.
So as she shivers in the grim, snowless, heartless London winter, trying to warm herself next to a cheap heater from Asda, Megan decided she’d post a heartfelt message back home via her Instagram story.
Uploading a vibey shot of Regent Street decked out in fairy lights which she’d taken only a few days ago, Megan hit the gram to send her wishes back to all the plebs in Aus.
“Wishing Everyone Back Home Happy Christmas… From London xox” she posted, hoping she’d lined up the post to drop within prime time back home.
Speaking to our reporter later this morning via FaceTime, Megan admits making London look like the centre of the universe has been a tough task in the face of the grey-clouds of Winter.
“All throughout December people have been responding to my stories, begging to know if I’m coming home for Christmas. I’m paying £1,200 a month to share a bunk bed with a Kiwi in a flatshare in Hammersmith, you think I’ve got the spare change to board a $5k flight back to Betoota.”
“Even Mummy and Daddy don’t have the cash to fund my flights home, and I asked!”
