A Betoota Grove man has this morning put the dog up some of his dirty lefties mates after the claimed tech billionaire Elon Musk performed a Nazi-style salute during the inauguration ceremony of US President Donald Trump.

Musk, arguably the world’s richest individual at the time of print, spoke at the inauguration for a period of time before slapping his chest and extending his arm out with a flat hand in a gesture that many interpreted as a Nazi salute.

While crass to some and outright criminal behaviour to others, 35-year-old local man Robert Alistair James William, has told The Advocate that the Nazi salute, like many things, was taken out of context and there’s a perfectly reasonable explanation.

“It was not a Nazi salute, it was a Roman salute,” he said.

“To journalists like you and so-called media organisations like The Betoota Advocate, there’s no difference. I think that you’re just looking for a reason to be upset. It’s not about the Nazi… errr Roman salute, it’s about the fact that your team lost and now the tears are flowing,”

“Well guess what, the quiet majority of Australians are coming for your mate Albo.”

Throughout the interview, Mr William was repeatedly tugging at the front of his polo shirt and pushing his shoulders forward in some sort of tick.

“The next four years are going to change the world for the better. Inflation will go down, productivity will go up. The share market will rise and people who are having a go will get to where they want to go. You lefties always bang on about not being able to afford a home where you think you deserve to live. Trump will make it easier for you to buy a flat in the French Quarter. He will keep the Chinese on their toes,” he said.

“I’m actually not surprised you’re interviewing me about the Nazi salute. Who cares? That’s all you have to focus on. No policy criticism, just Nazi this, Nazi that. BORING!”

More to come.
