In his first 24 hours as US President, for a second time, Donald Trump will be signing an executive order to end diversity, equity and inclusion programs within both the federal government.

The order would cut funding for so-called DEI initiatives across all agencies, with a push to impose a similar ethos across corporate America.

Since Trump’s November election, a number of major U.S. employers including Meta, McDonald’s and Walmart have wound down their diversity programs.

Initially established in the 1970s as a way to avoid the unconscious racial and chauvinistic bias amongst employers, ‘Affirmative Action’ has become a hot button issue for republicans in recent years, as fears grow that middle aged white men are getting overlooked for job opportunities because other people are being given chances.

Conservative political activists have long argued that ‘DEI’ champions mediocrity, and stunts the economy. It also means that brown and black people are now visibly present in board rooms and on TV screens – a phenomena that makes the Republican base uncomfortable enough to mythologise a misplaced nostalgia for the post-war era when people like them directly benefited from segregation.

Trump officials will now be meeting with different agencies monthly to evaluate how ongoing DEI programs are allegedly discriminating against Americans.

Among other things, Trump’s order will ensure that federal funds will not be used to promote gender inclusivity – because women are doing well enough without needing the benefit of employers being forced to take them seriously.

“We will forge a society that is colorblind and merit-based,” Mr. Trump said in his inauguration speech today.

Unfortunately for the media, finance sector and political class – this new American ideology of ‘fairness’ is going to have to work both ways.

Overnight, thousands of average middle aged white men have been sacked from Wall Street – as America begins forging a new corporate landscape that no longer places value on having the right father, or playing at the right golf course.

The mediocre All-American boys club will likely be replaced by far more competent Indian and Chinese-Americans, who look nothing like the vast majority of MAGA supporters. They will be hired based purely on merit, because their families champion education and hard work, qualities which will now override hundreds of years of nepotism and cronyism.
