A self-proclaimed free thinker has once again left a well-researched political take in a comment section—only to misspell the name of the political party in power.
Robert Towney (33) has long prided himself on his political instincts, favoring “gut feeling” over what he sees as agenda-driven mainstream media.
The 33-year-old, who insists his political takes come from his gut and not his feelings, admits he struggles to spell the name of the Labor Party correctly.
“It’s not my fault that one of the few times we’re meant to use American spelling is when writing the name of one of our major political parties!” Robert explained.
“Getting the spelling wrong doesn’t take away from my comment!”
Realisation that the Labor Party adopted US spelling in the 1890s—during a time when there was a push for simplified American spelling over British to make literacy more accessible to the working class—have only reinforced Robert’s opinions.
“Ah, makes sense really, once a woke mob always a woke mob.”
“Always trying to appease the dole bludgers, even back then,” Robert said.
The spelling mistake, which Robert reportedly makes on a daily basis, has become something of a calling card for other free-thinkers to know he’s one of the good guys.
“Whenever I see someone spell it L-A-B-O-U-R, I know they know what’s going on” explained Trent Robertson (38), another free-thinker that is so much of a free-thinker that he insists that his spelling of Labor party is actually the correct spelling and this is all just a psy-op to make free-thinkers look illiterate.
“What a lot of people don’t know is that the spelling was changed during the war when no one was noticing, it was their way of tricking us, typical lefties really..”
It’s unlikely Robert or Trent will start spelling it correctly anytime soon.
