It can be confirmed today that Australia’s Border Force is much better at securing the nation’s perimeter than white ants in the upper echelon of the organisation.
This comes after Peter Dutton was forced to table an email from Former Colleague at the Queensland Police Force, Russel Keag.
Mr Dutton has been under pressure for his decision to approve visas for two au pairs who had been stopped by Border Force officials who believed they would breach the conditions visas.
The email from Keag, begins with “Long time between calls,” seemingly at odds with Dutton’s claims that he has had no personal relationships or connection with the employers of the au pairs.
As a result, an internal report by Border Force has found that the department is much better at locking up children whose parents are seeking asylum, on small Pacific islands in inhuman conditions that breach Australia’s humanitarian obligations, than stopping emails from leaking out of their office.
An anonymous Top Border Force Officer told The Advocate that he and others in the department are fuming at the leaks.
“This destabilising of a man who destabilised his own government is very frustrating. It makes us look like a bunch of amateurs,” he said.
“Mind you if it gets rid of Dutton maybe it’s not such a bad thing. It would be nice to go about our work without copping shit relentlessly because he always put us front and centre in the media.”
“But yeah when you put in all the work locking kids up and building up your hard-nosed image, bloody leaks like this frustrate you a bit”
“We’ve gotta be more secretive in the future”
More to come.
