They told Samantha Williams during her time at university that she would have to be careful about her behaviour once she became qualified as a teacher.

So, when that day came, the 24-year-old regular binge drinker bit the bullet and changed her name on social media to Barbara Williams, substituting her first name with her middle name, a savvy ploy she learnt from some older teachers.

2 years on at Betoota High, young Williams has successfully managed to hide her life of sin from her pupils and the department.

“It’s like joining the Police Force, you can’t allow yourself to be found on socials, otherwise you could compromise your position,” she said to The Advocate today.

“I mean I’m not gonna end with a stalker if someone finds out who I really am, but it wouldn’t be a good look if some of the kids saw what was on my Facebook.”

“Look I haven’t exactly got photos of myself dropping Elephants on Safari, or passed out covered in vomit in a hotel room, but you get tagged in things here and there and stuff posted on your wall that can land you in a bit of hot water,” he said.

Williams explained that she has had a few kids she teaches ask her what’s her name is on Facebook, but she’s been clever enough to swerve the question.

“Some of the kids try and find me, particularly the seedy little Year 9 boys, but they are too stupid and naive to figure out that I’m on there through a fake name,” she said.

Williams said she hopes to navigate through the next few years anonymously, flying under the radar of her pupils and the principal until she becomes old enough that no one really cares about finding her on Facebook anymore because they think she is too old to be up to too much.
