Anthony Silver had the shock of his life today.
Beginning his new graduate physiotherapist position at the local Royal Betoota Hospital, Silver knew it would be an experience.
However, ready to start his career on the front foot, the young man was ready for anything today.
Or so he thought.
Fresh from graduating from a sandstone university in Brisbane young Silver thought he was in esteemed company.
So when he sat down next to Daisy Thompson, a fellow graduate program beginner like himself, he was shocked to learn where she studied.
Speaking to The Advocate just moments ago, Silver spoke about how taken aback he was by the fact that his new colleague had studied at a regional university.
“How did she end up here? As a physio in a grad program alongside someone of my ilk, and she studied at CQUniversity?” he said.
“I spent 4 years at a hallowed tertiary education with my parents paying through the nose for my college accommodation, only to end up in the same position as someone from a regional uni,” he asked shaking his head.
The young man explained he has now been left questioning whether it was worth it at all.
“The supervisor already seems to like her more than me as well. She (the supervisor) doesn’t even seem to care where I went to uni either, and I don’t really know what else to talk to them about,” Silver said.
“I’m just a bit confused right now. It’s almost like no one cares that I went to a sandstone uni.”
