A studious African-Australian teenager says she is very excited to finally be able to get on with her high schooling after Melbourne’s gripping gang problem vanished over the weekend.
Jennifer (13) now has no fear of being aligned with the much publicised and reportedly highly-organised network of African crime gangs after the Victorian Liberal Party lost the a state election by a landslide over the weekend.
“It’s great!” she says.
“I now have no fear of joining these gangs that we keep reading about in the Herald Sun… So I can focus on school now”
“Apparently all you have to do is be loud and African in the inner-city and you are automatically a member, well, that was until the Liberals lost the state election”
“Now the gangs don’t even exist”
While some say Jennifer’s newfound freedom is a direct result of the fact that the gangs never really existed in the first place, and was more just a last-ditch election tool used by the Liberal Government, Jennifer says whatever the reason, she’s just glad to be able to go school each day, unlike those poor kids at the Trinity Grammar who’s school nearly got shut down because a principal gave a kid a haircut.
“It’s great to not see other African kids on the front page of the newspaper everyday”
