Australian media personality Yumi Stynes is once again facing media backlash this week, following her most recent media stoush on daytime TV. This time with Kerri-Anne Kennerley.

The heated discussion about ‘Australia Day’ ended with Stynes taking things way too far by suggesting her wealthy, white baby boomer co-panelist might harbour opinions that other people might consider to be ‘racist’.

Since that moment, Stynes has had to face a barrage of racist and misogynistic slurs. Much like last time, when she made fun of Victorian Cross recipient Ben Roberts-Smith in a light-hearted manner on live television – an incident that has since been dwarfed by much more worrying media commentary surrounding the controversial military veteran.

However, as the mainstream media continue to question whether or not Kerri-Anne Kennerley is a victim of harassment just by virtue of her age and white skin, it seems Yumi Stynes is now at the centre of a paparazzi firestorm.

Yesterday afternoon, it is believed she was at home with her son at 4:40 in the afternoon when she realised there was a photographer waiting outside her house, attempting to take photos of her without her permission – “intimidating” her and her son in the process.

The cookbook author and former Channel V stalwart last night took to social media to criticise the aggressive manner in which she was treated by the Australian media, who are looking for a reason to explain the severe incompetence of the Liberal Party and subsequent cultural shift from 1950s era conservatism.

However, the icon of Australia youth television and her family is reported to be in safe hands this morning, following the arrival of a militia of half-stoned late 90s rock dogs – who have formed a garrison outside of the Stynes family residence.

“If we see any creeps with cameras around here we vow to ‘rip it up'” said one long haired old rocker, Reg Ergetater (47).

“Yumi played Silverchair when the radio only played Britney. We will never forget that”

At time of press, the group’s leader was seen punching a cone while Frenzal played faintly in the background
