The Treasurer of Australia spoke to the media this morning about the upcoming recession and how the root cause of it can be traced back to the first Labor government.
Josh Frydenberg explained to journalists this morning in Canberra that despite his best efforts, Labor’s economic incompetence is to blame for the economic pain middle and working class families will feel over the coming years.
“If you look at the broad picture, it’s easy to see that under the first Labor government in Australia, the seeds were sowed for this impending recession,” he said.
“Chris Watson, who was both the Prime Minister and Treasurer, made a series of captain’s calls in 1904 and 1905 that drove the final nails into the economy’s coffin. We’ve tried to repair the damage Chris Watson did to the economy but it was just too great,”
“There is going to be a recession but it’s not my fault. History will still hold me in a high regard.”
The Advocate reached out to the ALP for comment but they are currently on their seventh RDO of the year.
