With the nation currently staring down the barrel of the ‘most dangerous bushfire week ever seen,’ Prime Minister Scott Morrison has offered an invite to the fire chiefs who have been urgently trying to meet with him since April.
“Yep, good to go now blokes, come on down for a meeting,” confirmed the Prime Minister a few moments ago.
“Footy’s finished and I’m a free man.”
Greg Mullins, the NSW Fire & Rescue commissioner from 2003 until 2016 explained on ABC’s Q & A last night that he and 22 emergency services chiefs were ‘fobbed off’ by ScoMo when they wrote a chilling warning about impending bushfires and catastrophic weather in Australia months ago, and tried to organise a meeting.
After hearing nothing back, the former emergency services chiefs were eventually offered a meeting with Angus Taylor.
However, it can be confirmed that the Prime Minister is now ready to talk about those bushfire things that so-called experts have been warning everyone about for ages.
“Yeah, so it looks like the bush fires that people have been very concerned about for quite some time might be a bit of an issue,” said Morrison.
“So obviously as a bloke who likes to have a go, I’m going to have a go at fixing these things, and if that means getting 24 of us to have a big session on a Sunday that’s exactly what I’ll do!”
