Sydney’s Waverly Council has been heaped with praise after successfully rolling out an innovative new scheme.
In a world-first, the Eastern Sydney council has begun offering British tourists, and anyone else of extremely delicate skin the use of their new Sunscreen Cattle Dip.
The relatively new Cattle Dip bought from a mate of a local councillor out bush for three times what it was first purchased for, was originally designed as a bath designed to immerse livestock in liquid pesticide or other treatment.
However, with some modification, the new plunge dip has now been filled up with SPF50 and been used on Bondi beach to help tourists from giving themselves 3rd-degree burns.
“It’s pretty handy, we just fill it up with sunscreen, the Brits pay a dollar and then they hold their breath and close their eyes and walk through the dip and bingo, their lathered up with an appropriate amount of sunscreen” explained the local councillor.
“It’s the only way to ensure they get enough sunscreen to say sunsafe unfortunately.”
“Obviously it’s not ideal when they schnitzel themselves on the beach, but that washes off at the end of the day.”
“It’s been an overwhelming success.”
