The fallout from the World Anti Doping Agency’s (WADA) decision to ban Russia from all major international sporting events has reached the Shire this morning.
WADA took the decision after concluding that Moscow had tampered with laboratory data by planting fake evidence and deleting files linked to positive doping tests.
Following the landmark decision to ban the nation from events like the 2020 Tokyo Olympics, the 2022 Beijing Winter Olympics and the 2022 Fifa World Cup in Qatar, the Cronulla Sharks are now under scrutiny.
This scrutiny comes after a raft of random jacked-up Russian boys whose names end in ‘sky’ and ‘ov’ were spotted training down in ScoMo country with little to no clarity from the club.
“They’ve come through the feeder system and the junior ranks and are all ready to make the step up to the NRL level,” explained the coach of the club responsible for the supplements saga a few years ago.
“We won’t be commenting on the matter any further, let’s just let the boys play,” said the coach as one of the Russian giants walked past the conference.
It’s rumoured that a number of other Russians unable to compete at an international level are on route to the Essendon Bombers club in the Victorian Football League.
More to come.
