A wedding is a joyous occasion that’s supposed to be a celebration of love, two people choosing to spend the rest of their lives together and the ceremony a reflection of the couple, not a piss up where people behave like petulant primary school kids when they don’t get invited or it’s done in a setting they don’t like.
Recently married couple Rachel and Damien Cooke have today found themselves defending the way they chose to get married, to a group of people who wouldn’t have been invited in the first place.
“So, why would you elope? Could you not afford a wedding?” asked Tim, an entitled bachelor who still counts how many women he sleeps with.
“I beg your pardon? No…? We eloped because it’s what we wanted to do?” replied a confused and enraged Rachel.
“Eloping is pretty weird if you ask me” Tim continued.
“Oh, that’s weird, I didn’t hear either of us ask you that, Tim.” Added an annoyed Damien.
“It’s much cheaper and probably far more memorable than that boat party thing you did on your father-in-law’s credit card”
That particular conversation ends quite quickly, but only after both men pretend to laugh a little just to nip the confrontation in the bud.
It’s believed that people who get annoyed when they don’t get invited to weddings are also the type of people who would also ask how much money your parents have, who you voted for, and whether you would mind if they went on a date with your ex while it was still very raw.
