While everyone is glad to see the back of social restrictions due to Covid-19, one local bride-to-be is hoping she can cling on to it for another couple of months – or at least until mid-November after her wedding.
Earlier this year, Samantha Sprigg (29) and her fiancé, Josh, had planned on having 190 guests to their wedding in November. However, due to Covid-19 restrictions, the couple were forced to revisit their guest list with the red pen.
“We managed to get it down to about 160, a lot of the guests we cut were our overseas friends so that was easy”
“But I think we could lose another 10 or so people”
Those 10 or so people Samantha is hoping to cut are from her fiancé’s list, specifically his derro primary school mates that he’s somehow kept in contact with.
“I would just feel more comfortable with a smaller group” said Sam.
“You know, babe, Corona is still out there – there is still a pandemic! Don’t you think we should try cut as many people possible?” she continued.
“Yeah, well, we can try to cut the list… surely not all of your cousins have to come? You don’t even speak to half of them” suggested Josh.
“Oh, um, I was more thinking you could look at your list, like who even is Brydon or Aayden? I just think we need to go back over the list and be brutal – if I dread getting stuck talking with them, they’re not coming.”
It’s not yet known how the guest list negotiation ended, but with invites due to come out over the next month an answer is not far away.
More to come.
