A wave of sadness has washed over the nation today as news that a possible travel bubble with New Zealand might just be with their boring North Island for the time being.
Both Jacinda Ardern and Scott Morrison have teased the proposed trans-Tasman travel bubble for months, which has given many families separated by the border closures a sense of hope.
However, both government have admitted that the bubble could only cover half New Zealand as the cool, interesting and fun South Island remains off-limits for the time being.
New Zealand’s South Island not only looks way better, there’s also more interesting things there like sharp pointy mountains, extreme sports, high quality rugby, snow skiing, cold beers, fresh milk, lamb kebabs, Middle Earth, mad fishing and many other things listed on the NZ Government website.
Compared to the North Island, which has Auckland, wind, a lake that smells funny and seasonal depression.
To make things worse, there’s also no roadmap to access the South Island.
The Advocate reached out to the NZ Government for comment but have yet to receive a reply.
