Prime Minister Scott Morrison is demanding the New South Wales Government delete a “repugnant” energy policy attacking the fossil fuel industry.
Last Friday, the New South Wales voted to build 12 gigawatts of clean energy, which is double the current national renewable capacity.
Mr Morrison said the Government had reached out to the New South Wales Government and contacted their spiritual figurehead John Brogdan to have the policy repealled.
“Australia’s seeking an apology from the NSW Government for this outrageous plan to undermine the fossil fuel industry – against the national party line,” he said.
“We’re also seeking its repealment immediately.”
“It is utterly outrageous and cannot be justified on any basis whatsoever, the NSW Government should be totally ashamed of this policy,”
“There are undoubtedly problems that exist between Liberal Party of Australia and the Liberal Party of New South Wales, but this is not how you deal with them,” Mr Morrison added.
New South Wales Premier Gladys Berejiklian was unavailable for comment and has yet to reply to The Advocate’s questions.
