The island nation of New Zealand has won global praise today, after confirming a genrous donation of spciy cough jabs to a less fortunate nation.
Speaking from Wellington this morning, Prime Minister Jacinda Ardern said she will be providing an extra 1,000,000 jabs to an under resourced neighbour struggling with global supply constraints.
“We actually have been able to order more doses than we need for our population, so we are going to ship them over to our fellow Pacific brothers and sisters who need them,” Ardern said.
“They should land in Sydney within the next couple of weeks.”
The announcement follows the pledge to donate 1.6 million jabs to Fiji, Papua New Guinea, the Solomon Islands, Timor-Leste, Tonga and Tuvalu.
“After a couple of phone calls to the companies supplying the drugs we were able to get some extra doses,” explained Ardern.
“We aren’t expecting payment, but if Australia really want to make good, they could send us over some of those people locked up in off shore detention that we’ve asked for.”
“Or maybe put up a fight in the Bledisloe this year so we can have a bit of entertainment?”
“Anyway, hopefully you can convince your boomers to take the jab, but I’ll leave that to you.”
Our Prime Minister Scott Morrison has yet to officially comment on the issue, but is believed to working on some marketing lines to reveal how this was part of his plan the whole time.
More to come.
